MOLE is a fairly new collaboration between British drummer Paul Hession, Irish bass player Dave Kane, French sax-player Christophe de Bézenac, and Norwegian saxophonist Petter Frost Fadnes. The four musicians have previously worked together in a number of constellations connected to the bustling Leeds improv scene (e.g. The Thin Red Line, LIMA Orchestra, Orchestra DK, Quartet Alpha etc.), and now join forces in this quartet.
MOLE represents the unexpected, the uncanny, the ambiguous, and searches the dark undercurrents of sonic possibilities in their pursuit of righteousness, peace and music. MOLE refutes categorisation at all costs, infiltrating musical genres through discretion and wit, drawing influences from the subtleties of classic contemporary music and the steamrolling power of free jazz or punk rock.
